Netherlands Sunrise on Nature Reserve Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen

It is quite an experience being here at the crack of dawn - all you hear is the sound of the birds singing and all you see is the shadows of sweet curious deer, standing still watching you fearlessly and coming near you as close as a few feet away. Nothing here is man made, all is raw nature. These are the dunes that for the past 165 years have pre-treated 70 million cubic meters of water coming from the Rhine River which is pre-treated and pumped into the dunes. The sand further purifies the water in a natural way, just like a natural filter. This process takes 3 months at the end of which the water flows to the treatment facility at Leiduin before it is made safe to drink. This nature reserve lends itself to nature lovers and photographers alike with its breathtaking raw beauty. You can find here deer freely running around, many red foxes, etc.

First of all this is for nature die-hards because it is out of the way, phone reception is very bad, you can easily get lost here so please pay attention which paths you take so you will find your way back to the parking lot.

As you enter the Parking lot, draw a ticket from the machine and keep it safe. On the way back, pay eur.2 and get a free exit.

You will definitely need a variety of lenses with you if you wish to shoot the deer and/or the foxes apart from the nature.

This Reserve is just the perfect place for both sunrise and sunset.
