Netherlands Rainbow colored houses on Rietplas, Houten

The photo speaks for itself, the design of these houses is based on the rainbow colours, It has become almost a cliche and a place of pilgrimage for Dutch photographers.

There are many spots around the lake from which to take your shot. I chose the most problematic one since I wanted the leading line of the wooden bridge in the photo. The problem is, this is a wooden bridge where cyclists race on and people take a stroll with their dogs and each step shakes the bridge like a feather. One needs a lot of patience to calculate a quiet moment between the shakes. But you can continue on the bridge, alongside the houses until the other end and you'll have gorgeous sunsets at the backdrop. Bring along a sturdy tripod, a set of nd filters and definitely the big stopper if you have one and a remote and a lot of patience which will be paid off at the end.
At the time I took this shot, I was the only photographer around and the locals stopped for a chit-chat and small talk.

Get here by car and park exactly where I pointed on the map - it is 100 meters from the bridge.
