the 32 km long Afsluitdijk between Den Oever in North Holland and Zurich in Friesland is damming off the former Zuiderzee (now Ijsselmeer) from the North Sea. Coming from the north you reach parking places on both sides of the street connected by a pedestrian bridge. On the side heading north is a small tower, which you can climb for free.
