Netherlands The Blob, Eindhoven
Blob stands for, Binary Large Object. It was designed by Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas. The building is a 25m-high, organically shaped glass and steel structure that was built as the gateway to the Admirant shopping mall. It is home to two shops. As well, two smaller 'Blobs' serve as entrances to nearby underground bike shelters. Be careful, it gets pretty busy, so watch your camera bag.
Photography Tips
Try to capture this building in the 'blue hour' (it doesn't last for an hour), i.e. the time at dusk, when street lighting is on and there is still light in the sky. Tripod and release are a 'must'. I shot this on a Nikon D700 with a 24mm PC Tilt and Shift lens.
Travel Information
It is right in the middle of the city, we arrived by train and stayed across the road in the former Phillips factory (on the right in my picture).
