Netherlands Grafelijkheidsduinen, Den Helder
This dune field is something else. Wide-open vistas and lonely trees make for interesting photography opportunities. Inclement weather and nightscape photography are much recommend ventures here.
Photography Tips
Bring a wide-angle lens here. There are just too many subjects and angles to describe to you, but try to avoid photographing man-made objects. While rather rural, the site is also situated near the towns of Den Helder and Huisduinen, which could introduce light pollution at night. The nearby lighthouse will also lightpaint the foreground for you, so that's a plus. :)
Also bring an ND-filter and ramp the exposure time beyond several minutes to reveal movement in the clouds at daytime hours.

Travel Information
Set your gps to "Fort Kijkduin" in "Huisduinen". That will direct you to the nearest parking spot. Food and drink are also served there, but I recommend "Nogal Wiedus", with views across the North Sea and on to Texel island. Beautiful.
