Netherlands Tulip fields at sunset
It is the highest season of the Dutch tulips but unfortunately the season is very short as farmers cut the flowers off in order to salvage the tulip bulbs.
Photography Tips
You have to be here in high season like mid April. A mid-range zoomlens is fine. A tripod is a must.
Travel Information
You can get here by car but in order to get to the fields one has to park the car somewhere on the side of main road safely. Entering the fields is not always allowed, depending on the farmers for fear of contamination of the flowers. Make sure you stick to the main pathways and NOT enter the fields. While I shot the image during sunset, the compositions are wide open to any directions, simply turn your back and there are more fields. I do not know of any way to check in advance if the flowers are still there, some farmers cut them off way too early. I guess the best way is to visit if you are in the vicinity.
