Netherlands Pontsteiger
The Pontsteiger building, also known as Pontsteiger or Miljoenengebouw, is a residential tower in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. The building is part of the area development of the Houthavens. The residential complex is located on the IJ where the ferry to the NDSM site and Distelweg departs from the pontsteiger at Tasmanstraat, which was built in 1957.[1]
The design by Arons and Gelauff Architects was selected in 2007 and, despite the credit crisis, was built in 2015 almost according to this design. The building contains housing, shops and catering facilities. Although the building has an extremely angular appearance, the plinth contains spaces with facades executed in flowing lines.
