Netherlands Remembrance Center of Camp Westerbork
Westerbork was a detention and transit camp during the Second World War. Well over 100,000 Dutch Jews and Roma were assembled here for transport to other concentration camps. Today there is a museum and a few monuments of remembrance to those transported and killed during World War II.
Photography Tips
With sceneries like this, I always like to take black & white Photo's to show a little bit of the very dark feelings you'll get when you visit.
Travel Information
Best way to get there is navigate to Hooghalen and follow the road signs from there. Or just navigate to Kamp Westerbork. The museum and parkinglot are at the street Oosthalen. After parking, you can visit the museum first to learn more about the History of this Camp. And then take a bus ride to the camp itself or walk to it. It's about 2km away from the museum.
