Netherlands Provinciehuis, Groningen
The Groningen Provincial Hall is the administrative center of the province of Groningen. The building complex is located on the east side of the Martinikerkhof in the heart of the city. The front building at the Martinikerkhof dates from the early twentieth century, and the rear, containing the state hall, is the former Latin Sint Maartensschool of Groningen and dates from the late Middle Ages.
Photography Tips
I used a 24-70mm lens to compress the house well and ensure I got the full front and foreground in one photo since the distance between the park and the historic building is not too big. It might be best to visit in the early morning for softer light, but I visited 2-3 hours after sunrise, and with a Pol filter, I still got some decent colors!
Travel Information
Groningen itself is hard to explore by car and also unnecessarily. You should visit by train or park your car at one of the Q-park stations around. The city center is easy to explore on foot or by bike.
