Netherlands Town hall of Groningen

The Groningen Town Hall is located on the Grote Markt in Groningen. The current building, designed by architect Jacob Otten Husly in the Dutch classicist neoclassical architectural style, stands on the site where a town hall has stood since the thirteenth century. For many years, Groningen residents referred to it as the Old Town Hall, but since the demolition of the New Town Hall in 1996, it has returned to being a regular town hall.

While exploring the city center, I stumbled upon this spot, especially the Grote Markt. There is a small fountain installation in front of the Martini Tower, which you can use for a reflection. A low angle is required to make the fountain look larger.

Groningen itself is hard to explore by car and also unnecessarily. You should visit by train or park your car at one of the Q-park stations around. The city center is easy to explore on foot or by bike.
