Netherlands Historic channel building in Groningen
Groningen, pronunciation, is the capital of the Dutch province of Groningen and the largest center in the municipality of the same name. It is called the City in the province of Groningen and parts of Drenthe. In 2023, the city of Groningen had 206,010 inhabitants. It is the largest city in the northern Netherlands.
Photography Tips
It's best to visit on a calm day when the channel is not too wavy or too many boats are cruising around, which makes it hard to get reflections. The channel is quite narrow, and therefore, you will need a wide-angle lens to capture the building and reflection in one frame.
Travel Information
Groningen itself is hard to explore by car and also unnecessarily. You should visit by train or park your car at one of the Q-park stations around. The city center is easy to explore on foot or by bike.
