Netherlands Provinciehuis view from Forum, Groningen
The Groningen Provincial Hall is the administrative center of the province of Groningen. The building complex is located on the east side of the Martinikerkhof in the heart of the city. The front building at the Martinikerkhof dates from the early twentieth century, and the rear, containing the state hall, is the former Latin Sint Maartensschool of Groningen and dates from the late Middle Ages.
Photography Tips
I wanted a higher-angle photo of the Provinviehuis in Groningen, but the options are minimal. Due to construction on the roof of the Forum Groningen, I could not visit it from the typical angle. It should be reopened soon and is free to visit. Instead, I went to the higher floors of the Forum and tried to get an angle of the tower from the inside. It's pretty hard to shoot through the windows since they are filthy, and the reflections are hard to deal with. I used a sweatshirt to block most reflections off from behind the camera!
Travel Information
Please be aware of the forum's opening hours. The entrance is free of charge since you can visit multiple facilities inside. If the roof will reopen, it might be subject to a fee. There is an information desk in the basement near the entrance, and the employees are amicable and helpful!
