Netherlands Kiekkaaste dam view

Birdwatching hut The Kiekkaaste in Nieuwe Statenzijl is the only birdwatching hut in the Netherlands located outside the dikes. From the hut, you have a beautiful view of Dollard's fields.

Bring a telephoto lens to get this photo from the viewpoint marked. In the morning, you will get some incredible golden light. Make sure to check the tide chart. I find this location more charming when it's high tide since the water of the Wadden Sea recedes a lot. You will also be able to photograph many birds and other wildlife here.

You can park at the marked location (in the morning for free). Then, it's just a few minutes by foot to the location.
