Netherlands Sprengenberg castle
Architect Karel Muller has realized one of the most remarkable and striking country houses on the border of Salland and Twente on the 35m high Sprengenberg: Villa Sprengenberg. The villa cannot be visited, but the estate around it is freely accessible. It is part of the Haarle forestry, which in turn is part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. The Sprengenberg takes its name from the underground water sources that are present here.
Photography Tips
Bring a telephoto lens, as you can't get very close to the building, which is on private property and in a nature reserve. I tried using some vegetation in the foreground to create blurry frames around my subject.
Travel Information
You can park your car for free during daylight hours at the marked location. However, overnight parking is not allowed to prevent campers from staying. The park can only be explored on foot or bike (in some areas).
