the wider your angle, the better the result. I had 17mm x 1.6 crop factor, so it should be possible to capture more of the spiral shape.
Looking up, the center of the 'eye' is very bright, but the staircase is dark. Without tripod I had to shoot at ISO 1250, so need LRC to denoise the image. Also needed a lot of highlight and shadows correction.

Park your car in the parking garage, and walk to the exit further from the car entrance. There is this staircase. I went to the bottom for this shot.
