Netherlands Brunssummerheide
Brunssummerheide is a varied nature reserve. Walk through the remnants of the former coniferous forests or along the sections of alternating deciduous forest. Enjoy the space on the open sandy plains and the characteristic fens. The heathland is also varied. You will see heather growing on the drier parts and heather on the wetter parts. The heather is interspersed with grasses, bushes and small trees. The variety ensures that many different animals can live here.
Photography Tips
Heather bloom is a must, usually bloom starts around August (8) -September (9), look for foggy conditions. There are a few solitary and striking trees here that can be photographed year-round. There is also a moorland area around the Roode Beek (name of a brook) with a small lake where you can capture beautiful reflections.
