The historic Herengracht canal is located in the medieval city center of Amsterdam. The canal was built in two phases, in 1612 and 1658. The property shape, typical of the Netherlands—deep but very narrow at the front—leads to the interesting gables of the houses. In the 17th century, Amsterdam's wealthiest families lived in these houses.
