New Zealand Sutherland Falls
The Sutherland Falls is the highest waterfall of New Zealand with a drop of 580m.
Photography Tips
You need an ultra wide-angle here. When you move with the sun, the waterfall creates cool rainbows.
Travel Information
In order to reach this spot, you would need to book yourself one of the rare spots on the Milford Track. Bookings for the season opening super early and you better keep track of that. Sometimes it's possible with heaps of luck to grab hands on a last minute cancelation.
Reaching the Sutherland Falls Basin, you would need to detour for a good 45 minutes from the Milford Track (one way). You can leave your backpack at the nearby lodge at the detour. Don't leave it outside since Kea and Weka can be around.
