Norway Knight's Leap (Ridderspranget)
Norway’s top white water area is the river the Sjoa. Here it adds an extreme spectacle. A short hiking trail leads to a very narrow, very bizarre rock gorge through which a river squeezes.
A legend explains the name of the place: A knight is said to have jumped over the gorge here with „his girl“ in his arms and thus escaped his pursuer, to whom the „girl“ was promised. She loved only her saviour.

Travel Information
A rather inconspicuous sign on road 51 points the way into the forest. The hikers‘ car park is actually a good, very quiet place to spend the night, even with an outhouse.
There are several signs warning against getting too close, the rocks are slippery and possibly fragile. Danger of falling!
