Romania Bran Castle, Dracula's Castle
Castle Bran, also known as Törzburg in German, Castelul Bran in Romanian, and Törcsvári kastély in Hungarian, is located in the village of Bran in the region of Transylvania, Romania.
It is often presented as Dracula's Castle to tourists, although it bears little resemblance to the description in Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula."
The only real reference point in the novel is the Borgo Pass (Tihuța Pass), situated approximately 190 km north of Castle Bran. It is unlikely that the historical inspiration for the novel's character, the Wallachian ruler Vlad III Drăculea, ever set foot in the castle.
