Romania Bran Castle, Transilvania, Romania
Bran Castle, often referred to as "Dracula's Castle," is a historic fortress located near Bran in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. While not directly associated with the fictional character Dracula from Bram Stoker's novel, the castle's dramatic architecture and its connection to Vlad the Impaler, a medieval ruler who inspired aspects of the Dracula legend, have contributed to its popular vampire lore. Constructed in the 14th century, the castle has served various purposes throughout its history, including a royal residence and a defense fortress against invading forces. Today, Bran Castle is a museum that offers insights into the history, art, and legends associated with the region, drawing visitors from around the world.
