Spain Canyño del Sil

The rock walls of the Canyño del Sil rise more than 500 metres. However the gorge was not created by the river, but by tectonic shifting of rock plates. A narrow road leads along the south bank and offers breathtaking views into the depths. The rocky, rugged terrain seems unsuitable for agriculture, as it has the character of a jungle. A little hidden in a bend is a small waterfall. Above the Presa de Santo Estevo dam, a viewing platform allows a good view into the gorge and over the reservoir.
