Sweden Skeppsmalen
Sweden's Höga Kusten (High Coast) between Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik is a world heritage, especially due to special geological phenomena. In the last great ice age this area was covered by particularly high ice masses. The up to 3 km thick ice with its weight depressed the land by 800 m. To this day, it can seen that the land rises again, islands appear, other islands become peninsulas, etc.
At Skeppsmalen, a small fishing village at the end of a land tongue, a trail leads over glacier-clad rocks to the sea.
