Sweden Masugnsbyn Nature Reserve
About halfway between Pajala and Kiruna lies Masugnsbyn (smelting furnace village). Nearby is an unusual nature reserve, a canyon milled by glacial glaciers. From a viewing platform you have a nice view of the opposite wall. Approximately 250 meters away, a lavish staircase leads down 275 steps into the gorge. There grows an amazingly lush flora, especially a fern, which grows very large.
