Switzerland Viamala

The "bad way", Latin Via Mala or Viamala is a passage at the Hinterrhein (Back Rhine) river. The very deep and narrow canyon of the Hinterrhein, the Viamala Gorge, has been the most difficult obstacle for thousands of years on the route between Chur and the southern passes. Despite development of the road, among others with tunnels and bridges, the track still makes an adventurous impression. From a visitor center you can descend via stairs into the ravine. Under rock overhangs you look in churn holes, on waterfalls and again and again up or even further down into the gorge.
