This is the rooftop bar of the Marriott Hotel.
There are of course many other rooftop bars in Bangkok (e.g. see the movie Hangover 2) but we preferred this bar.

I was allowed to use the tripod but only for 1 photo.

The bar, which is located on the 38th floor, contains in total of 3 floors (see the Http link above).
The 1st and largest floor is open for families (including kids). The 2nd and 3rd floor is not open for families!
