Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is a large 19th-century private country house. The house is squeezed into a narrow level space between the ocean and the rocky hill rising behind the house.

Except for the thoroughfare that leads from its main town of Tarbert to Lewis, there are only single track roads in North Harris, as wide as bike lanes, with passing places every 50 to 200 meters.
Almost at the end of the longest of these roller coasters stands Amhuinnsuidhe Castle.
Not infrequently, the already puny roads run like roller coasters, favourably at some abyss. When driving here highest concentration is required.
