United Kingdom London. The Shard.
This shot was taken during low tide on the River Thames just right of London Bridge. I waited for a passing river boat and then took the shot.
Photography Tips
I think low tide is best for capturing shots here. Therefore wait until the tide is low and shoot some long exposure of boats passing. I used a tripod fitted with tripod snow shoes. The shoes help to spread the weight of the tripod and camera. I think I did a 3-5 second exposure. There’s no need to use a 10 stop filter unless you’re shooting during the golden hour.
Travel Information
This spot is easy to locate. Take a train to Tower Bridge and walk down to the opposite side of the Thames. Check for tide times. Summer is best. Also,
Be wary of passing boats when shooting long exposure. The passing vessel wake can cause the tripod to move about.
