Uruguay Plaza de Toros, Colonia del Sacramento

The former Plaza de Toros Real de San Carlos bull ring was built in the Moorish style at the beginning of the 20th century and could hold 10,000 spectators. After opening in 1910, it was closed again in 1912 after only eight bullfights because the Uruguayan government banned bullfights. From 2019 to 2021, parts of the complex were restored and are now a cultural centre.
