USA Bagnell Dam Bald Eagles
This spot is elevated on a bluff, overlooking Bagnell Dam, which gives you the advantage and perspective of being at the same elevation as the soaring bald eagles. The optimal conditions are if the wind is coming out of the south, which creates an updraft off of the bluff.
Photography Tips
A 300mm or longer telephoto lens is a must. These were taken at 200mm with a cropped frame Nikon 7200, equivalent to 300mm, and cropped quite a bit. With a little patience, you can stand in a clearing on the bluff for two to three hours and get amazing shots of these soaring beauties.
