USA Piedras Blancas Light Station
The light station is a federal historic park and California Coastal National Monument. The tower and some support buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the past, the light station played a vital role in maritime navigation.
Photography Tips
Tours are offered every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning, year-round. In the summer (June 15-August 31), tours are offered every morning, except Sundays and Wednesdays. (The light station was closed on a Friday, when I was in the area).
If shooting from the path when the light station is closed, bring a tripod and telephoto lens.

Travel Information
If open for tours, drive through the gate to the light station. If closed, go to the first parking lot north of the Elephant Seal colony and take a short 1/4 mile hike to the end of the path on the coastline.
