USA Elepohant Seal Vista Point
You usually see these seals only in a zoo, so worth a stop if traveling on this scenic HWy.
This is the Piedras Blancas Northern Elephant Seal Rookery. These are the second largest seals after the southern ones.
From viewing platforms along the edge of the bay, right next to a large car park on the highway, you can observe the animals from a short distance. For the most part, there is a sleepy calm. Occasionally, one of the animals grunts or throws sand on its back with a front flipper.
