USA Mount Adams from Trout Lake Road

If you want fall colors and a magnificent mountain backdrop, this is it! I have noticed that when my landscape shots are downloaded onto Location Scout that they almost always have a green tinge. This is NOT what the scene looked like: SORRY!

Timing is everything and getting the correct timing for fall colors is often difficult. I came a little too early but in normal years the end of October if about right. At sunset the mountain is backlit, the colors warm and a polarizing filter perfect to intensify the colors.

You can stay in either Trout Lake or Glenwood but the Glenwood Inn is ideal and well priced and only a 30 minute drive along Trout Lake Highway. You will know you have the correct spot as there is a dairy farm behind you and your nose will tell you that you have arrived. Park at the side of the road and shoot from just off the road.
