USA Trout Lake

This is one of Washington state's postcard shots of Mt. Adams captured with Trout Creek in the foreground and if you come the last week of October you may catch the fall colors in the cottonwood trees.

I shot this both sunrise and sunset and found the better light in the evening with the setting sun lighting up the snow beautifully. Bring along a polarizer to enhance the sky and snow.

Travel to Trout Lake and head west on #141 past the ranger's station. Look for Lake Rd. on your right (north) and drive a short distance to park. I would advise NOT going too far as it is a dead end with a difficult turnaround. Park short and walk in and respect the neighbors living on this road please. There are several nice compositions before you reach the end and the scene will open up in front of you.
