USA Koosah Falls
This is one of many Oregon waterfalls with lush scenery and tranquil scenes. Most are along the Columbia River and this gives an option in the central state.
Photography Tips
Try to arrive early to not only miss the crowds but also capture the light before the sun gets too high and it becomes harsh; before noon. Bring along your polarizer and an ND filter to capture the water movement with a shutter speed of between 1 to 2 seconds. I shot this is the autumn with lower flows but also less people. I'm told the maximal water flow is in June but you will have a hard time keeping your camera and lens dry.
Travel Information
Drive along the McKenzie Highway (#126) from east. or west and look for the well sign posted exit with a good parking. Walk along an easy trail to the viewpoint. I kept going downstream to an obvious "trail" down a steep and slick hillside to capture this shot. Don't fall or you will end up in the river or injured.
