USA Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge
Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful spot to not only take pictures but also spend time on a hike. Wonderful aspects of nature are displayed throughout the 6 miles or so of trail. Ibis, alligators, fiddler crabs, heron, and the gorgeous painted bunting.
Photography Tips
Be prepared physically if you plan to go during the summer. Bring water because the entirety of the path is void of any drinkable water or restrooms. It's extremely swampy so be prepared for the humidity. The trail is gravel-paved which is okay for walking..
Travel Information
Parking is available at the entrance of the trail, but you will not find much until you get around 1/2 a mile in because the reserve is located right off the only highway into Hilton Head Island.
