USA Mohave Point at sunset

This is the second Mohave Point shot as the sun dropped over the horizon. Of course, this is one of dozens taken a few seconds apart to get it the way I wanted it. This one taken almost an hour after the other Mohave Point shot that I posted from almost the same spot. (My daughter on the lower left taking her own shots.) One can stand here for hours shooting in every direction. The far canyon rim is 25 - 30 miles away.

Photography Tips

Canon 5DIII, Canon 24 - 105mm f/4L IS at 50mm. ISO100, 8.0sec at f/16. Naturally, a tripod and stacked graduated ND filters. They were necessary because the sun and sky were so bright and the canyon very dark in comparison.

Travel Information

Private automobiles are not allow in this area but Park Service buses drop off and pick up people throughout the day.
