USA Desert View
This spot is on the eastern end of the south rim of the canyon. The painted desert is on the right side of the shot in the background. We set up and took many shots as the light changed, painting the cliffs differently with each passing moment.
Photography Tips
Canon 5D III, Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L IS USM, shot at 26mm, ISO100. 0.4sec at f/16. f16 is the smallest aperture I used in any of my shots at the Grand Canyon. I usually stay in the f/8 - f/11 range. Naturally a tripod and graduated ND filter. Mirror locked and cordless remote shutter release, both to prevent camera movement.
