Argentina Fairy Forest north of Tolhuin

North of Tolhuin, the landscape changes from the Patagonian steppe to forests. They look a little like a fairy forest.
The trees are so-called southern beech. They are false beeches whose many small leaves resemble the much larger beech leaves in shape and structure.
Bearded lichens with "threads" up to 20 cm long give them their fairy-like appearance.
