Austria Kaprun high-level water reservoir view from Schwaiger hut

This view over the two high-level water reservoirs in Zell am See-Kaprun can be found right at the Heinrich-Schwaiger-hut.

Make sure not to miss sunset or sunrise around the hut since you can capture some beautiful alpine glow. If the humidity is high enough, you might be able to capture a cloud ocean. A wide-angle lens is needed to capture both lakes in one image.

To get here, you must take the two buses and lift to reach the base of the Mooserboden reservoir (The left lake in the image). Cross both of the dams to get to the starting point of the Heinrich-Schwaiger-hut. It's roughly 800m in elevation and takes about 2-3 hours. If you are visiting in summer: start the hike early to avoid the afternoon heat. Reserve a bed in the hut and stay overnight in the mountains. You can continue your hike by reaching different mountain tops or staying at the hut to enjoy those views.
