Spirit island is a tiny island in Maligne Lake, Alberta in the middle of Rocky Mountains. It is a lonsome spot, very romantic.

Photography Tips

It´s best when the weather is fine, but often you can´t choose. So go even when it´s raining. Bring you common equipment and your tripod.

Travel Information

Most people come from Jasper. On the drive to Malinge Lake you past Medicine Lake, which also is a fantastic foto spot. When arriving at Maligne Lake you have to take a boat to reach Spirit Island. The time there is unfortunately limited, you have to go back by the same boat you arrived.
