Mongolia Khongor San Dune

The Khongor Sand Dunes are one of a kind in Mongolia. It is part of the Gobi Desert which is one of the largest desert regions on earth. These dunes tower up to 300 meters and are specifically shaped due to high winds.

Photography Tips

Use the play of shadow and light in lower light situations, especially sunrise and sunset. Find leading lines to help structuring your image.

Travel Information

You can drive there from several points. Easiest and fastest is from Bayandalai. Make sure to have a proper 4x4 car (recommended) and be experienced with driving in sandy conditions. Otherwise, you can book yourself a tour or a car with a driver. Entrance is around 2,50 EUR. Card is accepted.
