Sandwich Harbor, located on the Atlantic coast of Namibia within the Namib-Naukluft National Park, is a breathtaking natural wonder where towering dunes meet the ocean. This unique and remote destination offers an unforgettable experience of dramatic landscapes and rich biodiversity.

Photography Tips

I tried to get very low with my perspective to feature the breaching waves and dunes in one photo. A telephoto lens helps compress a vast landscape. Be aware of a lot of sand and dust. Therefore, try to protect your gear as well as possible.

Travel Information

The journey to Sandwich Harbor typically starts from Walvis Bay. It is highly recommended that you join a guided 4WD tour with experienced operators familiar with the tides and terrain. It is also located in a National Park and, therefore, cannot be entered with a private car.
