Netherlands De Slufter by Night
De Slufter, an estuary, just north of National Park de 'Duinen van Texel', is host to many bird species but to a lesser extent, astrophotographers. :)
Weather permitting, a view north presents you with clear opportunity to witness the northern lights around the spring and autumn equinoxes, as well star speckled skies.

Photography Tips
A shutter speed that really suits the aurora borealis is around 10 seconds in these parts: You'll retrieve some good structure, while retaining light sensitivity. Go as wide as possible, be sure to pack that ultra wide or even fisheye.
Travel Information
You can't miss it: Hit 'De Slufter' on your SatNav and you'll be guided to a small café, but opening hours aren't that good here. Be sure to pack your own food and drink and don't forget to include your headlamp. It's pitch black when you go up the wooden stairs and over the dike!
