Sweden Skuleskogen West Entrance
One of the last coherent forest areas of the coastal landscape, part of the Höga Kusten, is protected as Skuleskogens nationalpark. From Entré Väst (west entrance, one of three) a short hike runs through the forest and over rocks to a viewpont. The path begins with a handicapped accessable wooden boardwalk.
Despite intensive deforestation in the 19th century, the tall coniferous forest appears almost jungle-like. Swampy areas are bridged with planks. Some trees of the light rock pine forest are more than 500 years old.
