USA Death Valley
The "Valley of Death" is a land of extremes, with the hottest place on earth (up to 57°C) and the lowest point in North America (86 meters below sea level). But Death Valley National Park is also extremely dry, most of the time. In August 2022, a single storm led to flooding, washouts, and the destruction of tarmac roads. In early 2024, there was a lot of rain in the park, and in spring, Panamint Valley was flooded with blooming "desert gold".
Travel Information
The park covers a huge area, a desert in various forms and with many very different landscapes. It consists of more than one valley and the mountains in between and all around, with extreme differences in altitude. The distances in the park are considerable, with places of interest being a few tens to over a hundred kilometers apart.
