USA Sourdough Ridge -Mt Rainier National Park
If you're in the Seattle, WA area and want to shoot the Milky Way, the Sunrise visitor center at Mt. Rainier offers you a really nice option for getting away from light pollution to do so.
Photography Tips
Arrive an hour before sundown to allow yourself time to find the spot along the trail that works with you. The night I went here, 30 other photographers spent the night with me, so this is a popular location. With that said, there is ample room for everyone here.
Travel Information
Sunrise is roughly a hour and a half SE of Seattle. The road to Sunrise is only open in the summer months (usually July -September), and you will want to plan your shot using an application like Photopills to plan for moonset, etc.
