Before reaching Sandwich Harbour, after passing the narrow strip of beach between the sea and steep dunes, this strip widens into a broad expanse at Sandwich Bay. The ferruginous red sand paints the wave patterns into graphics that the wind has sculpted into the beach.

Travel Information

In principle, you could go there yourself with a four-wheel drive vehicle. For this a permission has to be obtained. But it is strongly advised not to drive into the impassable area. A guided day tour is an alternative.
